![]() As for the easy aiming…which I use, I think it's great fun. You can build up your crews experience like a rpg with points earned from sinking ships. Speed, depth and a little zoomable map ( that can be enlarged with a click) are always handy especially in periscope view… without having to run around the sub as some have mentioned. I've had no problem handling the sub…I can do most things still from the periscope view. The map looks good and plotting works well. All it needs is the smell of oil, cigs and farts to really finish the job. How you were packed in with the crew for a really long time. It really gets over how small and cramp these subs were. ![]() The Graphics are stunning! Now the whole sub is on view and you can talk to the crew, the immersion is huge. If you select the guns the crew automatically join you. I love the fact you can walk around the sub, inside and out without any cuts. But on Amazon it's only £12.98Īt that price it's worth it just for a look around the sub What is the immersion feeling? The handling had been criticized particularly for beginners. This would be interesting because I initially was interested in SH5 but lost it reading several negative reviews (dealing with much more than the DRM). Well thank God there are people who are giving this one a chance!īut perhaps you can say a bit more about the reasons why you love the game despite the issues. The manual is useless so it did take a while to figure out a few things but a quick look online soon fixed that. There is a section in the forum that is just for people who love the game…it's pretty big and has a more balanced view. I've found it plays great and has stunning graphics and has had no problems that I can't still play and wait for the next patch to fix for. It's a sad fact that people have decided to attack this game because of the drm and it got into a frenzy…weird. The feeling of having a crew and being in a sub hasn't been bettered. I must add I play this game on pretty simple settings at the moment so if there's any faults in the harder manual settings I'll not know. If they'd just called this a new sub game instead of Silent hunter it would probably get rave reviews. If they just checked the ingame keyboard layout 'F1' they'd see what the controls were. Most the complaints seem to be from people jumping in and wondering why the controls from SH4 don't work…. I think they just need a slap and to be told it's not Silent hunter 4 with bits added on. Most the time it's their own machines fault and their own dislike of change. I've found most peoples moans have been pointless. ![]() On the 12th of april there's a patch out that adds a compass and a lot of other stuff is fixed to. There's also some bugs….What game hasn't! Yes the drm is annoying if your connection goes down and you have to sign up to
